Joe Bieniek, Vice President and Senior Consultant at First Consulting & Administration, provided an overview of the CPCU Society Interest Groups at the December Central Missouri CPCU Society chapter meeting. Bieniek talked about the Society's goals of Knowledge, Empowerment,and Engagement and emphasized how involvement in an interest group provides members the opportunity to network with other insurance professionals as well as access informational resources about specific topics within the insurance industry.

Keep Calm & Make a Plan
Brian Fick, Manager of Business Operations at Shelter Insurance, provided an overview of comprehensive Business Continuity planning at the November Central Missouri CPCU Society meeting.
In addition to talking about the journey Shelter Insurance launched many years ago to develop a comprehensive plan for business recovery and resumption, he noted the two hot topics that we in the Insurance Industry face moving forward.

Central Missouri CPCU Society Sponsors UMC Student to Attend 2015 CPCU Society Annual Meeting
The Central Missouri CPCU Society Chapter was one of twenty chapters that received $1000 to assist with expenses to sponsor a student's attendance at the 2015 CPCU Society Annual Meeting in Indianapolis. University of Missouri student Blake Owens joined Sandy Henderson and Lori Meyer at the Annual Meeting. Blake had the opportunity to meet with other student attendees as well as industry professionals, and attend numerous educational sessions.
