Chapter to Host Safe Driver Presentations on March 21

Tue, 03/01/2016 - 10:01

A recent study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that 80% of students will be in an auto accident before age 20, and 20% of students will be in a serious auto accident requiring a trip to the emergency room before age 20

Almost half of these serious-accident injuries involved an unbuckled passenger. Their injury or death could have been completely avoided by wearing a seatbelt.

These presentations, designed for future and newly-licensed drivers, will include information about roadway safety, impaired driving, Missouri Graduated Driver License Law, and a personal story about the potential consequences of distracted/impaired driving.
This information is provided through a joint effort between the Columbia Public Schools – Reality Week, MoDOT, Columbia Police Department, Think First Missouri, and the Central Missouri CPCU Society Chapter.

Please promote these events to young drivers and their parents. For more information, or to contribute to these events contact Russ Baker at (573) 214-4730.
