Central Missouri CPCU Society Chapter Hosts Young Driver Presentations

Fri, 03/25/2016 - 10:30

On Monday March 21st, the Central Missouri Chapter hosted over 100 high school students and family members for safe driver presentations at Rock Bridge and Hickman High Schools.

The presentations provided young drivers, and soon-to-be drivers, valuable information on the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.

The information was provided in part of Columbia Public Schools - Reality Week, and featured guest speakers Trent Brooks of MoDOT and the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety, Officer Scott Wilson of the Columbia Police Department, and Keller Colley of ThinkFirst Missouri.

Topics included the importance of seatbelt usage, Missouri's Graduated Driver License Law, consequences of not following permit license requirements, and a personal story about the dangers of impaired driving and seatbelt usage.

The chapter would like to thank our guest speakers and those who attended this informative event. Special thanks to CPCUs Russ Baker, Erica Smith, and Matt Bronson for organizing the events.
